What's up my friend!

We've all been there. Fighting to stay awake as the speaker rambles on and On and ON! Your people are disconnected and scrolling on their phones. That's no fun for anyone.

I don’t want that to happen to you! That’s why I work hard to craft engaging content that will resonate with your audience.

From a very early age, I was fascinated with stories. I grew up in the South, a region known for birthing many great storytellers. And I wanted to be one of them! As Mark Twain famously said, “I like a good story well told. That’s the reason I’m sometimes forced to tell them myself.”

A good story well told has the power to connect. Stories connect people, families, teams, and complex information.

Simply put, stories connect us!

For the last 20 years I’ve used practical, relatable, humorous, homespun stories to help people connect. And I’d love to bring these stories to you.

Your event is a big deal. So whether you’re looking for a keynote, workshop, or emcee, I’d love to help you look like a star.

If you’re ready to have a conversation, let’s connect!

Type of events

I specialize in content, keynotes, and workshops that give a variety of audiences - organizations, churches, and families - an opportunity to connect through laughter, inspiration, and entertainment, without a foul or vulgar word spoken.

My work is ideal for:

  • Organizations who want their employees motivated, more productive, and more connected.
  • Churches who want to encourage and strengthen their families or staff without cringing.
  • Groups looking for an emcee who won't embarrass them.

"I hired Clayton to speak at my event for several hundred people. Every single person was captivated by his engaging stories. His message was clear and powerful. His stage presence was as strong as his passion for people. Without reservation, if you want your audience to walk away with a life-changing message, get Clayton!"

James Wilson
Author. Pastor. Leadership Coach.

"I first met Clayton when we shared the stage at TEDxRexburg. Throughout the event, he was so connected to everyone in the room that I thought he must be a local celebrity. I was surprised to learn that he didn't know anyone at the event. People were drawn to his genuine, down-to-earth personality, both on and off the stage. He's the definition of a people person."

My Bio

I'm a civil engineer turned author, speaker, and storyteller who encourages folks to focus on the good stuff. For me, that most important good stuff is family.

I love stories! Especially stories of family, everyday life, and forgotten nuggets of history. My brain functions like an old school Rolodex. It's always spinning, looking for the perfect story that'll connect. I've compiled many of these stories into a book, podcast, and YouTube channel called That's The Good Stuff....mostly true stories from everyday life, for everyday life.

I married my high school sweetheart Leigh and we have four amazing kids; Ethan, Maddie, Charlie, and Maria, our daughter from Guatemala. West Monroe, LA is our home and when I'm not speaking and inspiring people across this great country, we can be found hanging out with family and friends enjoying good food and good conversation. In our spare time, we love to BBQ, boil seafood, invite friends over and simply enjoy the culture of family we've built together.

"Clayton's like your fun uncle. He has the ability to tell you what you sometimes don't want to hear, but need to hear so you can improve. His quick wit and gentle spirit inspires you to take action."
